NAWOJ Joins Ned Nwoko ,Regina Daniels Walk to End Malaria _Ada Nkong

As the world marked world malaria day, Billionaire and Philanthropist ,Ned Nwoko and his beautiful wife Regina Daniels through their foundation,Ned Nwoko foundation organized and participated in a walk to end malaria.

The walk which started from the unity fountain in Abuja saw thousands of people walk to Transcorp Hilton and back to the unity fountain.

Celebrities from different fields of entertainment like Iris Abdulkareem who composed the theme song for the walk, comedians, Diasporans and members of the Nigerian association of women journalists were among those who joined Ned Nwoko and his family in the walk.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the walk, he stated his commitment to ending malaria which he said was our own Pandemic in Africa.

“This is a journey meant for every one in Nigeria and Africa.
Malaria is out own pandemic in Africa”.
He blamed our leaders for paying lip service to ending the scourge.

“Our leaders don’t do anything because they have accepted that Nigeria is part of us”

“Malaria is not part of us
Mosquitoes are not part of us
We must eliminate them”.

Nwoko disclosed that his foundation would fund a vaccine to end malaria in Africa but in the interim, other measures like proper waste disposal and fumigation would be undertaken by his foundation.

On her part, Regina Daniels said she saw the need for a walk like this haven suffered from malaria in the past.she called for commitment to the cause against malaria.

The National President Nigerian association of women journalists, Ladi Bala pledged that NAWOJ would take the campaign to the rural areas and not relent till malaria is completely eradicated lamenting at the numerous lives lost to malaria..
