HUMAN INTEREST

Married for Twenty Years_Ada Nkong

Just like yesterday I remember the olive green nail polish I insisted on wearing. I can’t tell why I opted for that colour by the way. I remember also the bouquet of cream roses and the simple rose crown on my hair bought by My elder Sister.

Of course I must have been insane to go straight from the University to the altar, I mean who does that?

Twenty years, four children down the line, I realise there is no better time than then for me to have done it and I can’t get over the feeling of going back to church this time on my own terms, defying all odds to thank God for crazy me and my not so perfect family.

I grew in a thousand ways by reason of this marriage and the me that was must be envious of the me that I have grown to be.
