The Chairman Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Hon. Anime Dabiri-Erewa has received an award for her commitment to the welfare of Nigerians in Diaspora from Independent Television Abuja.
Presenting the award, the General Manager ITV Abuja ,Bar.Amber Olague said the role of NIDCOM in securing freedom for Nigerians in Diaspora who found themselves wrongly accused and detained in different countries at different times ,as well as helping Nigerians who were stranded in different countries during the heat of the covid-19 Pandemic to come back home informed the award.
Receiving the award, Mr Gabriel Odu who received the award on her behalf, thanked ITV Abuja for the recognition, adding that the reward for hard work is more work. He promised that the Commission would remain focused on ensuring the welfare and dignity of Nigerians in Diaspora. He went on to recount the various instances where NIDCOM has intervened, including the re went rescue of a lady trafficked by her brother.
Others who received awards are the Minister for Women affairs, Same Pauline Tallen, The NUJ FCT chairman Emmanuel Ogbeche and six others.
