In a bid to increase awareness on issues of aging in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Dave Omokaro foundation has signed an agreement with the International Institute for Aging UN Malta to establish a satellite campus in Nigeria. The center will carter to 44 countries in the sub-Saharan region
Signing the agreement on Tuesday in Abuja, Dr Emem Omokaro said this would go a long way to improve the lot of older persons in Nigeria especially as more knowledgeable hands would be trained to deal with issues on aging.
Speaking at the event,Dr Shops Aliu, a board member and faculty for DOF said it was necessary to enlighten people to the possibility of living a pleasant healthy life as they grow older. He applauded Dr Omokaro for her contribution to advancing the cause of older persons in Nigeria and promised to continue to lend his support to the cause of older persons.
High point of the event was the signing of the agreement on behalf of Dr Omokaro after the introduction of the board of the Satellite campus which is to be co chaired by Dr Emem Omokaro
