Miss Goodness Thomas who was denied admission by the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria to study a course of her choice, and was instead given Human Anatomy, which made the rounds on social media has won a victory for social media as her case has been resolved.
This feat was achieved following the swift intervention of the Director-General, Think Nigeria, Capt Hart Modey and his Kogi State Coordinator, who contacted the school VC.
It was gathered that, ATM AKA THINK NIGERIA PLATFORM under the leadership of Chief Capt Hart Modey through its Kogi State Coordinator, Mr Emmanuel Ugwu facilitated the processes for Miss Goodness to study her choice course which is Medicine and Surgery in ABU.
Spokesman for Chief Capt Modey, Mr Peter Ayim, said the “issue attracted the attention of many well wishers including Prof. Abubakar Akpa of ABU Zaria who is also on the Think Nigeria platform”. According to him, he has contacted the VC’s PA who confirmed that her name was on the first Admission List for Medicine and directed that the girl in question should go to the university portal and print out her admission letter. Her case is resolved.
Newsannexonline recalls that Goodness Thomas, the Valedictorian of St. Clement Secondary School, Gbaiko Minna, Niger State for year 2019 scored 302 in her JAMB, 274 in Post UTME at the ABU Zaria.
According to Ayim, She has 6 A1s (including Maths, Biology, Physics and Chemistry) in her WAEC yet ABU Zaria denied her admission to study her course of choice, Medicine and Surgery as they rather offered her Human Anatomy.
ABU Zaria cut off mark for Medicine and Surgery is 250, a score she surpassed by 52 points
Shewas demoralized by this act needed someone to fight for her. She is only 16 years old and does not deserve this trauma.
All that is history now, it is hoped that Miss Goodness would quickly proceed to the school and process her admission.
The think Nigeria team thanked every one for lending their support.
