OPEN LETTER To CROSS RIVER MINISTERIAL NOMINEE_Ada Nkong

The letter as published below was sent to me by the leader of the youths appealing for the President’s assent to a bill seeking to establish federal university of technology Ogoja.

OPEN LETTER TO THE MINISTERIAL NOMINEE FROM CROSS RIVER STATE
Dear Chief Goddy Jedy- Agba,
Congratulations on your nomination as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We commend the president for finding you fit to be a minister of the Federal Republic. It is a truism that a gold fish has no hiding place. Your nomination therefore does not come to us as a surprise.
While we join millions of Nigerias to wish you a successful screening and subsequent resumption of office, we will like to quickly saddle you with a huge responsibility that we think with your office, you should immediately deal with.
Currently, on the table of Mr President is a bill seeking to establish the Federal University of Technology Ogoja for which we solicit his assent as required by law.
Therefore, we appeal to you to take, as the very first assignment, to execute for the good people of Cross River State that you represent in the cabinet, to appeal to your principal to append his signature on the bill.
As at today, it is 39 days to the expiration of the bill if it does not get the president’s assent. Like Queen Esther in the king’s Court, Mordecai told her that it was an opportunity for her to help the Jews. We therefore see your appointment, as a timely one that will impact positively on the good people of Cross River State.
It is on record that your father, His Royal Majesty, Uti J. D. Agba was the very first Paramount Ruler that spoke extensively about the university and called on President Buhari to assent to the Bill. We are convinced that he will be glad that his son is the one that will deliver his message to the President.
We wish you well and pray that God will empower you to impact on Nigeria your wealth of experience from the Oil and Gas industry.
Once again congratulations.
Mike Udam
