The Federal Government has confirmed the donation of 47 vehicles and military equipment to Niger Republic to help it successfully host the 12th Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of the Union on African Continental Free Trade Area and the First Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union and the Regional Economic Communities holding in Niamey, the capital of Niger.
The items donated included two Armoured Personnel Carriers, five Toyota Coaster buses and 100 bullet-proof vests worth 2.8 million CFA.
According to the Nigerian envoy, Atahiru Dahiru, the donation was made on the request of the Government of Niger, adding that 40 other vehicles of different brands were handed over to the West African country.
“Everything they requested has been provided for them and they are happy,” Dahiru told reporters.
